I tried to combine geology and graphics to show how we are floating around on broken-up supercontinents.

Thanks lyle (no shrooms) and racer-x for your comments. The GimpChat feedback is well informed and valuable.

Erisian - thanks for the link on Alfred Wegener, discoverer of plate tectonics. Incredibly, the break-up of Pangaea and Gondwana happened in recent geological history.

I'm fascinated by the unbelievably long time spans in geology. For example the Yilgarn Craton (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yilgarn_Craton) is around 3 billion years old.
"The craton contains some 30% of the world's known gold reserves, about 20% of the world's nickel reserves, 80% of the world's tantalum reserves, considerable iron ore, copper, zinc and minor lead reserves".

Unfortunately that mineral wealth is also the home of indigenous people who have been there for 60,000 years. Australia has the highest indigenous incarceration rate in the world. Recently, I realized something surprising.

Children born from an indigenous parent and a European or non-indigenous parent have the highest possible genetic diversity. This potentially makes them exception people with exceptional mental and physical traits. This could be why they are perceived as a threat by the 'authorities'. There is a lot of work to do improving these people's lives.....

It's hard to find Creative Commons Aboriginal music but I felt the 'Rainbow serpent' was authentic.
