It was fun to make this pavement tile effect in Inkscape. Hexagon was divided into 6 triangles (30-30-120 angles) for three faces of this cube.
Then Clone Tile feature of Inkscape produced this floor.

Like the tessellation, Rashid. Indeed, 2016 is about to go bye bye for sure. Still, we have Christmas to get to first. lol

Dear Lylejk
In Pakistan we follow Gregorian Calendar in State Affairs. We have 'Sunday' as holiday as the last day of the week. But in our religious matters we have lunar Islamic Calendar which starts from the month of the 'Muharram'. In this year 'Muharram' was in October. So I have already started New Year.
Today I learnt to draw a new pattern in Inkscape which I hope you will also like.

Very nice pattern. The under/over looks very hard to do!

That's cool, Rashid. The Chinese New Year's usually several weeks after the current one the we celebrate so I suppose New Years's are relative. :)

Mr. Lylejk
So far as I know Gregorian Calendar is base on Solar cycle but I don't know about the nature of Chinese Calendar.

Mr. Trandoductin
It is the concealment of portion of one copy through Masking in Inkscape. I tried to use Knot effect but I was not able to do it. Perhaps some expert could do it.
