How can G'MIC users access the Virtual Landscape feature? Where is it located?

Navigate to the link as outlined below Mackenzieh. :)

Thanks, Lyle! :)

You're welcome; what would be cool for some of these cool demos is for G'MIC to support sound. Maybe out of the scope for G'MIC but still it would be cool. lol

:)

I've slowly started migrating from Sourceforge to our own server. All download links have been already updated!

Does anyone know how to update gmic in linux. I tried putting it in plugins but that didn’t work. It's permissions are set so it's not that.

First the obvious, you did download either a zip or a installation package for gmic_gimp not the standalone gmic found here http://gmic.eu/download.shtml

I am a bit old fashioned, like transparency and see what I am downloading, none of those nasty here type links.
Rather than the big friendly buttons http://gmic.eu/gimp.shtml
I go to http://gmic.eu/files/latest/ and pick the appropriate zip.

looks like this screenshot http://i.imgur.com/AcG4d2E.jpg

If you get a installation package (edit: don't think there is one but check in your distro packages), run the appropriate installer. For the zip then just unzip and copy to your Gimp profile.

I have always found the gmic zips excellent, with permissions already set, but check anyway.

Does it work, http://i.imgur.com/V0eNfEL.jpg
Yes, it does. This is an old laptop I use for testing, with LM 17 and Gimp 2.9.1

There might be old gmic filter updates in your home folder. A hidden file .something.gmic safe to delete this. G'mic will make another as appropriate.

Don’t be afraid to start over. It’s a new chance to rebuild what you want.

Thanks Rich, I had downloaded the wrong file from sourceforge as I couldn't see one that said gimp_gmic. Thanks for the new link. All fixed :tyspin

I guess this is yet another reason to ditch Sourceforge. :)

Also, looks like the files have definitely now been migrated so the new repository to get the latest version of G'MIC is below. :)

Just to reiterate the earlier post

http://gmic.eu/download.shtml - is for gmic standalone
and
http://gmic.eu/gimp.shtml - is for the gimp_gmic plugin

but for the average user it is all there if you go through the G'mic homepage .

Maybe the occasional avid updater, with an old-ish bookmark will get caught out.

David,
any chance you have time to look at the filters performing "sketching" to improve the performances? Currently I can use them only on very very small images...
Thanks

edit: to give some numbers:
same image of a flower, filter B&W Sketch
sizes and times
--------------------------------
900 * 600 = 110 seconds
1200 * 800 = 210 seconds
1800 * 1200 = 460 seconds

@dinasset : Very few chances to be honest, as I'm busy as I've never been :)
