 Post subject: No Icon for Gimp update

I was running Gimp 2.8 but wanted to download the latest 2.814. It appeared to work. I saw a new start up screen for Gimp and everything, but when I went to open Gimp, I saw no new icons and nothing new in my programs folder. When I clicked my old icon, reguler Gimp 2.8 started to load. I'm using Windows 8. What am I doing wrong? I also can't seem to get G'MIC to download.

go to: Help > About Gimp
you will see Gimp 2.8.14

about what you see on icon etc: gimp is always shown as x.y (2.8), not as x.y.z (2.8.14)
