Is it just me?

I updated to GMIC 3.0 recently and have always previously used the create 'new layer' option with verbose naming of that new layer, i.e the parameters used.

I have though found that the parameters used in the selected GMIC function for 3.0 no longer populate the new GIMP layer name.

I can find no 'settings parameter' that gives me this 'verbose' option for the layer name, although there are options for 'verbose to log' and 'verbose to console'.

Any ideas?

Is it the issue in described in the below linked thread? I also use the verbose layer names and will seriously miss them.

Verbose Layer Name not available in 2.9.6:

OMG:
- there is a "copy" command (look at "CopyHere" attached); click on that icon
- then edit layer "attribute" and "paste" (look at "PasteHere" attached)

Teapot - thanks for the reminder, yes that is the same issue.

Diego - thank you very much; that is a solution, not as quick/easy as before but a solution. Thank you again.

I miss that feature, too.
Copying is only half as good.

I like to run a lot of filters, each in a new layer, then look at them and pick the one I like the best. I really miss this feature because by the time I look at all the new layers I can't remember how I generated them.

Why was this wonderful feature removed?

The reasoning behind the change is at the end of this
https://discuss.pixls.us/t/solved-putti ... es/29628/5

Personally, I hated the over-long layer names, some of the gmic parameter strings are quite long.

A bit tedious but you can still copy/paste into a layer name or depending on work flow paste into Gimp Image Comments for use later.
