Since version 2.8.6 Gimp 64bit Sourceforge my old compilations (G'MIC 64-bit Win) no longer work.

I changed the environment to try to create a compilation that works in many cases.

My tests are good with Gimp 64-bit versions 2.6.10 / 2.6.12 / 2.8.4 / 2.8.6

How to install :
Delete the old version of G'MIC.
Unzip the archive.
Open Gimp and using preferences add the directory \gmic-beta_full_64bits_win\64bits\gmic_gimp_plugin as plug-ins directory.
Restart Gimp.

Please do not overwrite the existing DLL trying other ways to install.

samj: do you suggest I delete the gmic_gimp_win64.zip file from the sourceforge server then ?

I'm planning to release the final 1.5.6.1 on next monday, then takes a loooooong break

Je ne sais pas...
Je ne suis pas totalement satisfaite du nombre de bibloothèques (DLL) qu'il faut pour que cette compilation soit "universelle" : Je crains des problèmes d'installation car il peut y avoir des mélanges de bibliothèques DLL (la majorité des utilisateurs ne sait pas ajouter des plug-ins via le menu "préférences" de Gimp). Malheureusement ces DLL me sont nécessaires pour couvrir toutes les version de Gimp.
D'autre part pour rendre cette compilation "universelle" de G'MIC Gimp j'ai utilisé mon ancien environnement Gimp 2.6 avec GCC version 4.7.0 20111209 (experimental). C'est ancien mais je ne souhaite pas refaire un nouvel environnement avant la sortie de Gimp 2.10.
Il y a des points positifs :
- La compilation fonctionne avec plusieurs versions de Gimp.
- La compilation est plus simple (1 étape).
- La binaire G'MIC Gimp est aussi rapide que les binaires 100% G'MIC.
- Les binaires 100% G'MIC sont toujours compilées avec mon plus récent environnement.

Retirer les anciennes versions permettra de faire plus de tests, pour l'instant il y a une seule réponse.

Last break it went up 2 versions, or was it 3?

Non, c'est compilé comme une version "normale". C'est dans une archive dite "beta" car je ne veux pas compiler en 32 bits et refaire tous les tests.

My tests with your old version "Gimp-Painter 2.8.3-64bit" are OK. I will see with your new version.

It crashes (and also beta versions) with "Gimp-2.8.7_Onkel_Hatti_64_2013-06-29.zip"

the command-line gmic works. hmm.

Preview bar (I call the pacifier bar; lol) doesn't work samj when running a filter. Also packing presets give back a blank layer. Your original beta still works completely fine. I'm usig 2.8.6 64-bit GIMP. Not sure what the issue is with the final G'MIC release.

I compiled two versions of G'MIC 64-bit in the same archive:
The two versions work with Gimp 2.8 64-bit.
For Gimp 2.6 64-bit, use the version in the directory \gmic-beta_full_64bits_win\64bits\gmic_gimp_plugin (this version is compiled with the beta option).
The second version is compiled without beta option.
The archive is updated, you can download it (26 960 279 bytes).

G'MIC Gimp 64bit & compiled versions by Onkel Hatti

Here is a 64-bit portable version (32-bit plug-in can run).
This version is a mix of 32-bit and 64-bit versions proposed by Onkel Hatti.
For proper operation, some elements of the compilation by SourceForge are added.
G'MIC Gimp 64-bit is in this version as well as many plug-ins ...
This version is an example, there will be no technical support.

Hopefully you will see this and might help. There is a strange error in the g'mic gimp plugin that doesn't appear in the command line version. See this thread here:

I was wondering if it might be due to compiler flags used for the gimp build (especially float optimisation)?
Maybe you have another idea though

G'MIC Gimp (folder gmic_gimp_plugin) is compiled in the same way that G'MIC command line but in a different environment (gimp 2.6).

Hmm OK thanks, I suppose we need to wait for David to have a look. Maybe I'll have some time to check myself but I wasn't planning to do gimp plugin builds yet. It's strange it only occurs in the gimp plugin (even on linux!)

Edit: David has told us now it's because gmic gimp plugin uses a different random number generator which he's going to update. So nothing to do with builds at all.
