Yes, this is planned also. I will code a single filter both for comics and bw photo colorization.
If everything goes well, this will be available on tomorrow.

Rod what is this 'centre button', maybe I compiled before it was coded

reset works fine follow these instructions
After clicking [esc] to create image go back to Gmic Extract Foreground menu and press [Reset] at bottom then [OK] or[Apply] second screen will come up with no control points

Yeah; you have to reset settings to rid the control points Rod. David's video is now dated (ie, the controls are more now and some no longer exist such as the center button). :)

I am using Graechan's 64bit build and the center button is working for me. It gives a preview of the extraction mask. This lets you add additional points to fine tune. The controls for the are listed in the first window when GMIC opens.

I'm using Graechan's build too that he posted at an earlier thread here; what gives? May Graechan post the most current beta build and post the link again if said button exists since I don't see it. :)

The center button is the center button on your mouse. In my case it is the wheel.

Pirate, you will need the 1.6.0.1 beta version to enable you to use the extraction tool.

I'll try to make it available after that for coloring B&W photographs as well.
Stay tuned :)

Nice David! :)

After such long thread about interactive segmentation, I hope there are still Mac Gimp Users interested to hear that I have added in the Mavericks beta 1.6.0.1 in folder X a gmic_gimp plugin, which needs X-Windows installed (XQuartz) allowing to do similar things the Windows/linux people are so exited about. This plugin will also work for those on Macs with gmic cli running.

Please try to use the gimp "gmic command interface" too, to test the capabilities!

Are you using windows or Linux. If you are using windows, if I can remember correctly, place the plugin and the exe file in your user plug-ins folder. In Linux you just need to place the one GMIC file in the user folder. Then refresh your GMIC.

If I am wrong about the Windows install, please correct this Windows users.

Molly I would recommend replacing all your previous Gmic files with the new ones

Another video, showing the progress I've made with the upcoming comics colorization filter.
Still a lot of work to do, but at least we go to the right direction :)

Some friend have already suggested other improvements for a better interface. I won't be bored in the coming days !

Simply stunning David!
I can imagine cartoonists excitement.
You know, vector illustrators have to use blob brush to colorize their work and then use shape builder tool to clean up the edges.
I bet they would kill for a plugin/tool like this in their vector apps.
