Hi Gc,
seen also your recent post, tried your emboss filter with the output of the image used with IAIN's new filter.
Looks good, even if this is not the kind of image to use with your EMBOSS

maybe you could do something similar of what I did with Alicia:
- anisotropic smoothing ONLY on the face (masking the smoothed layer)
- overlay original on top
in my case it was a great step forward

Original GC Emboss {screen mode, 80%} Gradient Norm (Smooth ≈ 5,00; invert){soft light mode, 70%}

Hi everybody - I would like to play too, but whilst I have found 'garagecoder' in G'MIC/testing, I do not see an 'EMBOSS' item.

Am I looking in the right place?
