Hello everyone,

I have been testing the G'MIC plugin for Krita and I have encountered a way to always crash Krita 2.9.6.3 with G'MIC 1.6.1.0 (both on Windows 7 - 64 bit and Windows 8.1 - 64 bit):
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=350339
As a consequence, I have tried to reproduce this issue with Gimp 2.8.14 and G'MIC 1.6.5.1 (pre-release with updated definitions) always on Windows 7 - 64 bit.

In short:
I open a new jpeg image;
I fire up G'MIC (1.6.5.1 - pre-release) and I choose a filter (e.g. shapeism or the Inpaint patch-based filter)
I click on "Apply" AND I click on "Cancel" in order to stop the filter while is running.
G'mic stops working and it somewhat "crashes" when I click on close (X) in the upper bar window to close its window

Btw, everything works fine whenever I stop the g'mic filter, while is running, by pressing the X (close) button directly on the GIMP canvas.

I have recorded all my steps to always reproduce this errror on Windows 7 - 64 bit (Gimp 2.8.14):

My best regards and THANKS a lot for releasing G'MIC for everyone: it really rocks ! :)

Thanks for the report Sylvio.
In the plug-in for GIMP, I'm afraid few can be done to fix this issue for the moment.
Maybe I could just hide the plug-in window while it computes, and show it again after the end of the computation, so that
killing the plug-in can be done only through the cancel button of the GIMP interface (which works well).

Hello David,

Thanks for your reply !

Don't worry.
I suspected that and I have reported this issue because on Krita 2.9.6.3 this G'MIC glitch crashes the software.
On the contrary, Gimp 2.8.14 stays alive and kicking. Therefore, it is not so bad in the end for Gimp users :)

Sylvio, I found a way to hide the main window temporarily, so when a user click on the 'Apply' button, the main dialog window hides, then re-show after the filter execution. It's convenient because the user can check the progress bar more easily.
It will be available in the next release (1.6.5.1, planed on next Monday if everything goes as expected !).
Thanks for your report!
