Have a look here... http://gmic.eu/gimp.shtml
I believe you need the G'MIC plug-in for Mac Intel dmg file download.

But what would I need to do when I've downloaded it? When I download it, it's just a series of folders.

I'm not a Mac user, so I don't know what you should do.

Place those folders in your plugins folder and restart Gimp.

I had to install Partha's McGimp and his G'mic to make it work. I found if I installed another site's G'mic, it didn't work.

I also use Partha's McGimp as it has GMiC natively inside it already.
*just google Partha's Place to find it.

Sorry for the delay! Whitsun ...

For the gimp gmic plugin you have to copy from the Macgmic volume the file gimp/gmic_gimp to ~/Library/Application\ Support/GIMP/2.8/plug-ins/. as written at the bottom of the README file. Don't hesitate to add improvements to make the README comprehensible.

If you are not familiar with Terminal, use Finder->Go to ... -> "Library/Application Support/GIMP/2.8/plug-ins" and drag gmic_gimp from /Volumes/Macgmic/gimp to that place.

By the way, the Gimp from GIMPonOSX (Lisanet), the Gimp 2.8.14, has also a gmic_gimp plugin but relatively old. Mixing the Gimp Partha build with the Lisanet build will make problems. It is a hassle with these Gimp builds on Mac either without external plugins or with but with different strategies (links to bundle libraries, library version etc.)!
