"The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application"
Formerly I was having issues with missing dll's, now this. An attempt at reinstalling with 64bit did not work at all, so I assume the installer has a fault. An attempt at 32bit install fixed the missing ones it seems, but now I have the unable to start issues.

While I have tried to read other topics, so many of them do not cover my situation fully, or at all.
However I deleted the gmic_gimp_qt in my plug-ins file underneath my >appdata>roaming>GIMP>2.10, and that has solved the issues.

However installing 2.10 has deleted brushes, dynamics, and patterns I had from my past gimp install. Any new dynamics I create are purged when the program closes, and I'm left with the default and those I had installed custom, all over again.
Furthermore the layout of my actual windows is frustrating as my toolbox is floating underneath my layers dialogue, and I changed to a multi-window setup to make things easier to work with, not harder like this.

EDIT: Additionally when I open gimp now nothing happens. Just plain nothing at all. I'm going to look into how to launch gmic within gimp as I'm not having any luck it seems this month.

With Gimp 2.10 you will have a new user profile for gimp. So you will get a clean install with only the default patterns, brushes, gradients etc.
If you had others in 2.8 or even 2.9 copy them to your 2.10 user profile.
As for scripts and plugins not all of them will work with 2.10. It is trial and error at the moment.

You should be able to get G'MIC qt to work though. Make sure when you add it that you put the path in your preferences in gimp

This is the preferences dialogue & once you click on the 'plugins' folder. Browse for the GMIC path using the folder icon and add it.

By the way Welcome to Gimp Chat :)
