Question may have been asked before.
Just incase it hasn't and I am too lazy to look through post.
I have seen some people say they use it as a stand alone program instead of with a certain program like gimp.

I want to use it for my work and don't want to download it to their computers if I don't have to. Is it possible to put it on a USB and use it just from there?

The online GMIC is down at the moment (or was last time I looked) and doesn't have the most up to date stuff either.

G'MIC does have a command line based interface (non-GIMP plugin). It's even more powerful, but I'm a GIMP guy so never really pursued using the command-line interface. It's a separate download from the GIMP plugin, Sallyanne.

The command line interfact, as I recall, does not need (or use) an installer; just unzip in a folder and use it as is (but will take a bit of a learning curve). :)

You could use a portable copy of GIMP (samj/partha), which includes GMIC.

Assuming there is internet connection at work, you can use G'mic Online. Safer that way as no files will be written to your work computer HDD.

I used to racer. Unfortunately it hasn't been updated for some time & doesn't have what I need.
