Hi all, is there an installer or way of getting G'MIC into GIMP 2.8 on a Mac running High Sierra?

Hmm, my builds were linked against Gimp from Gimp on OSX, which has been abandoned.

You better try to use the native Gimp 2.10 built with the gmic_qt from CarmeloDraw.

Do in Terminal
"wget -q -O - https://github.com/aferrero2707/gimp-pl ... 10-OSX.tgz | tar -xC ~/Library/Application\ Support/GIMP/2.10/plug-ins/ -"

Thanks for the info Karo03de, I think I'll leave it for now on Mac, I might put it on my Windows laptop later.

Is there an explanation of the Hope Poster filters step by step processes, the reason I ask is I want to replicate this in Affinity Photo and while I can get close I can't quite get the nuance that GMIC's hope filter applies, I was hoping < pun intended that understanding how the filter applies different settings would help me in creating a macro of sorts that I can run to get a similar effect.

This is just a bit of a spare time project, I can apply a gradient map, posterise and add a bit of median blur or a dust and scratches filter to smooth out the colour blocks then apply a line texture to one of the colours but there seems to be more that being done and I'm not sure what that might be.

I just had to upgrade my OS to High Sierra since my previous OS would no longer run Safari, and Gimp 2.8 seems to work ok. Does anyone know if 2.10 will work and if both Partha’s and Samj’s Are equal? Also, would need instructions on how to have both versions on same computer?thanx
