Hi All,

I have compiled G'MIC for Gimp 2.7.3, 64-bit and 32-bit. Please test and let me know if it works for you. You should
be able to find it on my website http://www.partha.com.

Thanks to G'MIC forum for providing us with this wonderful plugin.

Thanks,
Partha

I believe there are some missing dlls that need to be included in order to get gimp-gmic to work inside GIMP. Below's an error that I get on startup; might be of use. GIMP G'MIC, unfortunately isn't recognized in GIMP 2.7.3 64-bit. :)

Was going to copy these dlls to the 64-bit GIMP but wasn't sure that these were compiled for G'MIC 32-bit only or not. Dlls being library files, might not need this, but curl.exe is an executable so assuming that it needs to be compiled for 64-bit too. :)

I believe you are right. :)

I will re-upload the zip file with the missing DLLs.

Thanks for testing.

Hi PC,

Thanks for providing the screenshot. The only DLL that should be needed is the pthread DLL. I am not sure fftw dll is needed since I am using a static library. The PNG, JPEG, and Zlib are already included in the Gimp distribution that I provided and so should not be a problem. I will upload a new zipfile.

Thanks for testing.

Hi lylejk,

Can you download and test again the 64-bit version? Please put the included DLL file in the Gimp bin directory.

PC, If you are testing the 32-bit version, can you download and test again? Please put the DLL in the Gimp bin directory.

I really appreciate it.

Thanks,
Partha

Just tried it Partha; works great but the internet update refresh doesn't work. Still, the presets that are already included work quite well. It even found my custom presets that I already use. I bet if I update my 32-bit G'MIC, that the updated presets will be there for the 64-bit because it kept my presets from the 32-bit G'MIC, so it is not that necessary to do update. Thanks a heap Partha. :)

the interenet update can't work because curl.exe, that usually is hidden in the _gmic subfolder (see my screenshoot) went MIA , as the _gmic subfolder

and was that .exe to take care of the filters update

another minor problem "gmic_bashcompletion.exe " should NOT be included in the plugin files .

May be a separate dl, or in a separate"Gmic-64-bit command line" package,

but if in the plugin files create disturbances when gimp load (will open a terminal and gimp loading will froze till the terminal is not closed )

but Partha i believe now you basically did it !
just there is 1 missing or not linked exe, "curl exe", and 1 that must be removed gmic_bashcompletion.exe

PS about gmic_bashcompletion.exe :

if you include , that is the package for Gmic command line (that anyway include the gimp plugin )
if not included that is the package for the plugin

ahh; wondered what curl.exe did (too lazy to read David's website and just prefer stumbling my way through understanding things; lol). Not sure if curl.exe needs to be 64-bit. Might later try adding that to the directory where the G'MIC 64-bit is and see if that works. :)

edit:

Just tried this and now G'MIC updates work too. Yeaaaaa!!!!

:)

Yeah i was going to say i have been using the same GMIC for 2.6.11 in 2.7.3 and it has been working fine for me.
I did however go ahead and install the new GMIC by Partha and kept the old folder with curl.exe inside.Mine works fine , thanks Partha.

yes works for me too, luckily seems that curl.exe doesn't need to be at 64 bit, i copied from the 32 bit , and now works

PS about guessing what curl exe was for, "curl" was a good hint

Thanks for testing all!! As I did say (you know disclaimer, copout (in the US), etc. :) ), I am not an expert with g'mic. So, I was not aware that curl was needed. But glad it all worked out. Perhaps we can inform the GMIC forum guys that the plugin is working with Gimp 2.7.3 especially 64-bit?

Thanks PC. I know, I should have first asked you to test. However, since it compiled and worked on my machine, I got it out there so that we can iron out the bugs before 2.8 comes out. :)

Thanks again,
Partha

if you already edited the zip to add the _gmic folder with curl exe , sure

btw you could make 2 gmic packages , that for the command line with bashcompletion.exe ,
and for the plugin without

Kudos to you and your efforts Partha. Happy camper I am. Won't post on the 2.7.3 thread but do look forward to your next GIMP build too (SVG is very much desired. ;) ). :)

I have to agree with Lyle, the file-svg and librsvg.dll are missing in Gimp-2.7.3.It would be nice to see them re-compiled for this version.
