I think people should get credit when they do things well (and help when they don't) and I want to say thanks to the board admins for NOT putting those stupid post counters next to everybody's name. There are some boards that I've been a member of for years but almost never post anything and their stupid post counters make me look like a newbie and make other people whom I've seen over the years say a lot of nothing look like seasoned experts.

It is sort of useless information! I think some boards make you do a certain number of posts in order to be allowed you to do some stuff, but other than that I see no point.

Yeah people are rewarded higher status if they post more.But i think the same way.That it is something that should be between Mods and the poster themselves.I see forums all the time where someone has joined 2 years ago and posted 10 times total.To the newer members it does make them look more newbie-ish.I would rather that info not be disclosed except to admins, and /or moderators of the forum. =)
