Just kidding. If Windows is the red headed step child, then MACs are it's offspring that's for sure PC. Being an elitist's tool, most folk who buy a MAC know that you need to spend more in order to use it. Perhaps that's why Open Source for MACs has been so lacking. Things have changed a bit when MACs changed it's core to BSD, but still the repetition still is that of an elitist's tool imo. Am I biased? It is so fun that many still believe the mith of Mac "more adapt for artistic work"

the only ground for the mith was that Windows at that times was looking quite crappy if confronted with the cool "acqua" style effect that Mac desktop were already offering

But that had a sense only several years ago , and was just a detail , maybe useful to present the jobs
and worked only if you could carry not only your job but the whole Mac with you in order to present your job... obviously a rare case

but yes hard time for use GPL sw on mac...and for gimp i believe after a decade there is not yet a mac build for GAP...even less for many plugin...and seems there is nobody able to answer to questions as "how to use gimp python plugin on Mac"

on Lisanet.de, it is currently showing 2.6.11 for OSX

No problem for the current version the problems are for plugins and/or sw less know then gimp
