Very good information to know.
I think the main reason I have not and likely will not change GIMP k/b shortcuts to match PS is simple enough. It keeps them fresh enough in my mind where I can comfortably use GIMP on any system/OS without having to remember defaults I ditched long ago. Just a few weeks ago I helped a friend install GIMP on their Windows laptop and walked them through some of the basics like layer masks, quickmasks, etc. with some images they had in mind for a little project.
I had more difficulty than I cared for just with the basic shortcuts on GIMP, and and at the time it had been some time since I had tried anything serious with anything but PS.

Airbrush and ink tool. I neither know what they do nor have I ever used them before. I really don' t care if I have them or not, so it' s not even worth the effort to delete them
