Has anyone been able to get the latest Gimp v2.10 RC2 Flatpak to work? https://www.gimp.org/downloads/devel/

I can't get it to work in Linux Mint 18.3 at all. I can get Gimp 2.8.22 flatpak to work, but not v2.10 RC2. this one is bugging me. I know I should just wait for the final release of Gimp 2.10, but....

Appimages are no problem, but these flatpaks are a royal pain.

I agree, too much crud has to be installed to get anything to run. This time org.gnome...250 MB

Always willing for a go ;) However, not in my regular Kubuntu 16.04 (16.04 should be the same as Mint 17/18?) but in a 16.04 VM

Installation looks like this: https://i.imgur.com/XBFrEbH.jpg

Running looks like this: https://i.imgur.com/JqrtmLn.jpg

Did you enable the gnome repository?

flatpak remote-add --from gnome https://sdk.gnome.org/gnome.flatpakrepo

This particular flatpak is a bare bones gimp. It won't load G'mic, I assume it doesn't include a QT environment. It will load both my python and scheme scripts though, that's nice. I assume when they release a final stable version of Gimp 2.10, it will include those libraries. The Gimp 2.8.22 flatpak does and has no problem with G'mic.

For anyone running Linux, here is the install command:

flatpak install gimp-2.10.0-RC2-x86_64.flatpak

Here is the uninstall command:

flatpak uninstall org.gimp.GIMP/x86_64/dev
