Hot spots in Gimp?

I want to pretty up an entrance page of a website for a friend and don't know a lot of html. I have a background picture with the website's name which I put together in gimp. I put an enter button pic on it (I can do it again if need be) but I need to put a 'hot spot' in that pic. Is there anyway to do this in gimp? I have tried while editing the page but I cannot put a picture on top of a picture.

There is an easy way to do this on gimp and I think there is even a tutorial for it, with your image open select Filters>Web>Image Map and you should find everything you need.

Thanks, I did find where in gimp it could be done. However I didn't see a tutorial so tried at the site again and was able to do it there.

Thanks, I did find where in gimp it could be done. However I didn't see a tutorial so tried at the site again and was able to do it there.

I figured that if this silly old fella could do it so could any other aussie give me a pm if you have problems

With HTML you have the butterfly (without the <enter>) as the background image for a DIV, and the content of the DIV is the link using the <enter> button image.

I've toyed with the image map function many years ago. Once you define your areas of interest and assign URL address lins to them, it pretty much automagically creates the webpage with links for you. Since I don't do website design, I've obviously not did this more then maybe twice, but it was quite straight forward to do Sallyanne.
