I've been trying to take two photos and put them next to each other. Does anyone have the time to help me through this challenge? I'm looking to make them look like they are together as much as possible.
Thank you,
MM

Welcome to Gimp Chat, nhmelmac.
About your challenge with the both photos it's a bit difficult as the light comes from different side and the horses prevent from change or flip the image.
Anyway I played a bit with your idea. Of course the result is terrible. But if it is helpful for you, here you are.

I'm so poor at using this program that I lost my original thank you note.
I just wanted you to know how grateful I am for this gift. It is for a woman who has recently lost her mom. They loved horses together and she will cherish this image forever I'm sure. Thank you with all my heart.

I'm happy if this photo can relieve a bit your friend. I got the transit zone a bit darker, perhaps you preffer this one better.
Happy to have you on board.

Really good effort, Issabella. I have done that before and it took me a long time to arrive at a satisfactory result!

00111111, very nice blend of the two pictures! Did you give them a new background with some sky in the view. Brilliant addition.

nhmelmac - welcome to Gimp Chat.

I was going to have a play to see if I could help, but Issabella and 00111111 have done the job far better than I could. Certainly the latter offering, with it's foreground extraction and new background, will surely suit your purpose.

Pat, OMG thank you so much for your comment.
00111111, you did a precious job, much more credible and clean than mine. Congtats. :coolthup
I wanted to keep so much as possible of those photos. Also added the elbow of the left lady as it was cut. :)
