I'm retired and living in Columbus, GA.
I've bought a scanner and am slowly digitizing my 35 mm slides and color negatives. Some of these are 40 years old and need some TLC and I'm hoping to use Gimp to provide it.

regards
Bill

Welcome to GC!
Pretty amazing quality for a 36-yr old slide.
Good idea to have them digitized, film loses quality over years.
And this one is of Bamiyan Buddha statue that doesn't exists anymore!
Did you do any color corrections to your slides or they are 'as is'?

The quality of these slides are mainly due to Nikon film cameras and lens plus Kodak. Any defects on the slides are due to storage conditions in the countries where I lived. There has been very little deterioration in colors but some tweaking will be necessary. If I can remember when changes are made through Gimp I'll post under the title "Afghanistan 1976 Revised' i must admit that I'm aging and my memory is deteriorating...

I've included a few more slides for your interest and I can only hope you may appreciate what an interesting county this was/is.

Bill
