Hi, my name is Kevin. I'm a graphic designer based in Colombia. Been working as a graphic designer for a few years already and I've always worked with proprietary software since that is what they taught us back that time at college. It was two years ago that I came across Gimp and most of the other open source graphic software out there, like Inkscape and Scribus. My mind was blown away when I saw the huge community behind those projects, people working together just with the sole objective of creating powerful graphic tools, I was amazed.
Today I do most of my freelance work with open source software, though I use proprietary software at the office since they paid for those licences and they need me to have the skills for working with those tools. Despite this, Open Source has become a important part of my philosophy and I try to tell my coworkers about it so they can see how powerful these tools are and how awesome is the people behind them, working expecting nothing in exchange.
Lately I've been working on some user interface designs for other open source software I'd like to share with you in the upcoming weeks so I can get some feedback from the community. I hope we share work and opinions in the future. Until next time.
P.D. Sorry for my english.
