What? Hello? Did somebody mention pets on unsightly backgrounds? Well, goodness, gracious, my friend (I can call you 'friend', may I?) you've come to the right Chat. Normally, I wouldn't let anyone leave this board without a few, maybe a dozen, $99.98 USD/month software subscription services of dubious merit, but you seem like the decent sort, so
you get the square deal! (how about that?) Here `tis: Gimp -- with the
G'MIC Plug-in, all for the price of a postcard and stamps to send it (the postcard, not the Gimp) to France (instructions in the plug-in). That gives you the same "Provided 'As-is' " EULA without anywhere near the same expense! And what will it do for you? Well, we had a fellow in here just last fall and he was getting hundreds of dog pictures that he had to make decent for publication, and dozens were coming in like this!
That's right, pooches on lawns which look like they were located just within 700 meters of Fukushima Daiichi Plant Number 1. all blown out by the sun. They kept coming in, and coming in, dogs on gravel banks, on cracked concrete, but were they moving the deadlines? Oh no -- those were rooted like the Rock of Gibraltar. He despaired that he would never see the light of day.
But then, along came Filters --> G'MIC -->Contours --> Extract Foreground (Interactive) and he was saved! Masks that used to take hours to cut were done in minutes! Pretty soon he was plopping those pooches on green healthy grass from a bunch of other shoots. Ta-Ta!!!
And if that wasn't all, any one of the
other four hundred or so filters would come to the rescue for this or that graphical malady. Inpaint to synthesize away tossed beer cans or drifting plastic bags. Blur By Color for faux depth of field. Anisotropic smoothing for noise reduction. All he needed was the Documentation, which is around here somewhere. Most of it. Well, part of it. Don't worry -- it comes with the kit! We got a guy working on it somewhere and he thinks he'll be done in the latter part of 2087. Hey! Hello! What do you mean you suddenly realize your car is being stolen? What do think this place is, Brooklyn? Hey! come back! Was it something I said?
