Hi there, I'm a 63yo female from Australia learning and playing with GIMP for about a year now. Bit different to most women my age as I am not a big PSP fan and prefer GIMP. Probably the fact that I am a dyed in the wood Mac user has a lot to do with it. But given number of opportunities to use PSP on occasions I still favour GIMP and have managed to convert a lot of PSP tutorials into something I can do with GIMP...so here I am..onward and upwards....to learn more thanks folks!! :tyspin

I should probably say that I found my way here today looking to learn something about G'MIC...help please!!!

to Gimp Chat, akky. I hope your converted tutorials find their way into our GIMP Tutorials forum.

As far as G'MIC is concerned, you can go here to view some of the results in G'MIC plus you can download it.

I've actually ...downloaded something but its not appearing as a proper mac file even though I DL the mac version...and I cant find the right place to put it...so In my quest for help with it I found my way here...As for the tutorials I am not sure if I would be breaching the copyrights of the PSP creators if I put that stuff to print but I'll make sure I keep a record of them in future...I just do it as I go along...using the GIMP resources I have...havent actually put them into print. Although I did actually write a couple of tutorials about a year ago when I was learning.

Well thanks for the tips folks...I'll be back hopefully on a regular basis as I am keen to learn more...I'll let you all know how I go with G'MIC as well...I actually think I just got it into the right place so we shall see... Thanks again. xo

Welcome Akky...nice to see another "well-seasoned" Gimp user and Mac user on board. I am new to Macs so I will probably be bugging you for help. I did get g'mic installed with no problem but forgot where and how ( I think the site was some female name and that she specializes in mac compiles)

I hope you share at least the links to the photoshop tutorials with us even if you don't get them converted to GIMP. I have shared other tutorials in hopes someone on here could help me to figure them out. :lol

Liana I'll endeavour to do that in future. I am not sure I understand the rules regarding posting links here but I think I have to get permission from the mods in order to post them.

Did you get G'MIC working? You'll love it. :mrgreen:

I had some trouble getting it to work on Windows. Turned out I had to add another folder in edit ->preferences in GIMP that G'MIC put in my plug-ins folder on my computer.

I've got the old version in place but not so sure about the new one atm..I'll give it some, serious attention when I have more time to fiddle with it. Thanks for asking.
