Hi there,
My name is David, living and working in the north of France (in Caen, here to be precise).
I'm a bit late introducing myself here, since I've been quite busy with some recent open source projects I'm trying to develop :cofscreen
I don't know how to paint or draw properly, nor how to use a camera. I don't have any artistic skills.
I'm a beginner with GIMP (though I wrote one small plug-in for it).
The best thing I ever did with GIMP, is the avatar you can see on the left (hope you like it !). :duck
I've already noticed this forum has a lot of talented artists, I've already learnt a lot by reading your posts.
I'd like to thank you again for all your great posts and experiments ! Now, I'm in !

If the author of the best add-on (plugin) for GIMP writes that unknown Gimp (beginner) - is how to determine the other newbies? Less than zero ?
Sense of humor can make a difference !.
If you can - write how you connect passion with the needs of families (particularly the youngest).

@MareroQ : Knowing a bit about technical points on the GIMP plug-in API does not make me an artist or a power user of GIMP, I'm really far from that !
@Lyle : Thanks for all your nice messages of encouragements.
@Draconian : This message was not intended to make you sing any praises of any sort, sorry if you understood it like that. But really, I enjoy reading the GimpChat forums and I'm quite decided to be more than a simple reader, and participate more to the forum in the future, nothing else. So, presenting myself (which I never did) seemed quite natural to me, as a first step for being more involved in GimpChat discussions.

I didn't think that, just a figure of speech, so you can relax and be more at ease. Certainly don't take anything I say seriously. LOL

Except maybe like O said, we all appreciate your contribution to gimp

Thanks Draconian, I didn't take it (too much) seriously, knowing the nice mood here, but I just wanted to be clear about my intentions :hugme !

Haha! My idol and creator of my most favorite GIMP plug-in. Always a pleasure to read your comments, David. Between you, Lisle Krolsky (formerly known as Lyle), Rod, and PhotoComix, I never run out of artistic adventures. I hope it continues for many years to come. :) Naturally, all the other G'MIC filter contributors keep me equally entertained, they're just not as vocal as you guys are.

Welcome to Gimp Chat David! I'm glad the forum is helping you learn. I think posting things is half of the learning process around here. Often times you'll post something to "teach" people, and the conversation that is sparked from it leads to you learning more.
