Hello Boys and Girls!

Former long-time PS user...can't afford the PC version for my new laptop...so GIMP it is. After a few days, I am VERY impressed.

But of course, a little confused about the interface.

Hope to learn a lot here, and also help some real noobies in explaining the simple, basic image retouching stuff.

A warm and hardy welcome to you, Ira. Lots of friendly folks here ready to help. If you know PS, then it will be no time at all before you're a Gimp pro. Can't wait to see some of your creations so don't be shy. If there is anything that seems confusing, just ask away.
