Hi, I just registered and have been having a look around.

I'm using Gimp 2.6 with G'mic, Ghostscript, Gimp Photo, GSView & UFRAW. I've tried going to 2.8 but get my head bombarded with missing .dll errors (etc.)

I'll be flattening my PC in a few weeks so I'm try a new install then.

Take care

Where were you getting your 2.8 from as you should not get errors with a portable

Welcome to Gimp Chat.

You can download a reliable "portable" version of Gimp-2.8 here.
http://www.partha.com/ - 32 and 64 bit versions are available there.

Do you know if you are running a 32 or 64 bit system?

Thank you all for your kind welcome :-)

- Grachan, I downloaded from GIMP Plugin Registry, my PC has been misbehaving for a while :-)
- Rod, I have Windows 7 32 bit, it's pretty nifty when it's co-operating. I'll check Partha out too though

Even with 2.6 I've been keeping busy. So far I've only posted on deviantart..... I'm getting there xx

debzb17: welcome to gimp chat :)! i've met many gimp users who stay on 2.6 because they don't like 2.8 and they have no problem making amazing stuff, so no hurry with the upgrade really.
