Hello everyone. I just signed in to this forum, hoping that I will find useful helps in using GIMP.

I used to use pirated Adobe Photoshop for image editing and making posters. I live in a third-world country where pirated softwares are everywhere and are easier to find than legit ones. One random day, I decided that piracy is wrong (yes, you can call me Captain Obvious by now), so I decided for myself that I should use open source softwares.

I don't oppose closed source/premium softwares, though. I just can't afford them, and I don't think I can afford them for years to come. In the meantime, I will be using GIMP and other open source softwares :)

Since English is not my first language, I might make grammar mistakes. Please be kind and don't be a grammar nazi :p

Welcome, you will find lots of good information on this site. And your English is better than many for whom it is their native tongue!

You may find that not long after you start using Gimp and Inkscape you will delete your pirated photoshop as it will become a waste of diskspace,
welcome to these pages and Enjoy
