Fantastic, don't be sorry. =)
Windows is pretty easy...
SCRIPTSInstalling SCM files (not python their dif)
Download your script you want to your desktop
Go to your user documents folder find the gimp 2.6 folder.
Inside that folder is your Scripts folder along with many others.
These folders are for your personal downloaded and created items.
Open the scripts folder that is inside the gimp 2.6 folder and drag the new scm you downloaded from your desktop to that folder (scripts folder)
If Gimp is running go to Filters/Script Fu/Refresh scripts
If Gimp is not running just open it and look for your new filter.
PYTHON - EXE - Plug-ins (not SCM)Download your plug-in you want to your desktop
Go to your user documents folder find the gimp 2.6 folder.
Inside that folder is your Plug-ins folder along with many others.
These folders are for your personal downloaded and created items.
Open the Plug-ins folder that is inside the gimp 2.6 folder and drag the new plug-in you downloaded from your desktop to that folder (Plug-ins folder)
You MUST restart Gimp for the new plug-in to initiate and run or work. Some plug-ins you dl (usually exe files), require you just run the setup and chose a destination directory just like any other install.Choose to install them in that same folder.
PYTHON plug-ins require Python-Fu install - someone here can direct you to the packages you will need, along with installation instructions.
Some plug-ins require you to read the READ-ME file to understand where files need to go (such as Math-Map)
That should get you going for now.
Anything else just ask.
