I just wonder if Partha and the development team use 2 different sources for their compiles. It doesn't seem like they would.

More not always the computers detect automatically well the screen size, and if the "dected size is a bit bigger then real usually the problem is not detected, because most of windows usually mantain some free extra space around

so only when some plugin with particualrly large and complex dialogs show windows too long to fit in the screen, with ok buttons that can't be reached because below the bottom of the screen ...that may become evident

On my 7 laptop i have a nasty variant of the same problem:
screen size is detected well but without considering that last 20 rows of pixels, on the bottom are reserved to the taskbar, so in same case i have the ok (and cancel and apply)buttons covered by the taskbar

I sure can't wait for that compile package Partha has.
I tried using Msys and MinGW again to compile just a C plug-in and right away got a gimpui.pc error.
Well i couldn't find that package config file anywhere so i gave up again :lol
I'll just have to wait and see how Partha has his directory tree for compiling set up.
Mine is like this or was like this rather -
C:\Msys\1.0\home\MyUserName - home directory (terminal)
C:\Msys\1.0\local\lib\pkg-config\ all my pc files - babl.pc, gegl.pc, and the rest. -package config files (pc)
C:\Msys\1.0\bin - for all binaries
C:\MinGW\Git - for git clone

I got BABL to compile
GEGL compiled fine
Went to compile Gimp and got another perl error (probably wrong version installed)
Can i create another folder in Msys\1.0 named opt and place a copy of perl-5.8 in it?
Will that work?
I also tried running Robs gimp compile script (sh) and it froze at babl download latest version.

Yes i started pulling out hair again and gave up :\
On a good note i now have all the newest windows 32 binaries for gimp dependencies though. :)

I appreciate the information I gather from here.

I hope Partha will soon release an installer for windows based on the new development version, with all the new changes.

Thanx.
