I am not sure if happens in all OS,quite sure it happens on all the Windows builds
Luckily is a bug really easy to replicate.

At the top of every topic is a button "subscribe topic" just click it and responses to this thread (all responses so be for-warned), will be emailed to you.

Also when you reply to a topic you can tick "Notify me when a reply is posted"
At the bottom of "Full Editor Mode" window. You will then receive an email when a reply is posted.

Just did a 17 hour photo rework on Win 7 running Gimp 64 bit.... Way behind at work and PS crashed.. Downloaded the 64 version and not one crash.. had to shut it down a couple times when my computer had its tongue hanging out. but almost 1 full day... no crashes or lost work... I think I will become a GIMP man after all!
