Yes there is a way , but you have to edit manually the files where you want to preserve your own presets. look at this video and everything will be more clear.
http://youtu.be/T69NbiVAKpE the audio is in spanish but i hope you will understand the process.

dd the easiest way to do it is to install everything then just go into edit/pref and change what you want-move your dialogs back where you want them and you should still have all the saved presets and whatnot.Like brush settings and stuff. That's the way i do it. :)

Thanks TheShock by the way for the new setup! It's real awesome.

Yeah that's pretty much the way I ended up doing it...

I accidentally deleted the brushes that came with it (trying to make my install smaller and faster), so i was trying to use the presets and getting all kinds of errors. :lol
Anyways i reloaded all the gradients, brushes, and patterns and now i am all set again. :)

GIMP Version: 2.6.11
Operating System: Windows
OS Version: XP - SP3
GIMP Experience: beginner yet :)

Hi :)

I need some help. I have never had GPS before so when I look in my gimp folder I do not find the tool options folder. I downloaded GPS exactly where do I put everything? I am posting a screen shot of my GPS folder. I am going to take a wild guess and say I put the brushes in brushes folder, gradients in gradients folder, etc. But what about the tools option folder and the other files where would I place them? Thanks!! :tyspin

Place the tool options folder (the entire folder), right in your .gimp-2.6 folder.Gimp will see it. ;)
And you guessed right about the other files and where they go.

The Shock
Have you any thought on setting this up for Gimp-2.7.3?

Just unpack the archive to your Documents & Settings/Username/.gimp-2.6 folder. The folders in the archive match with the folders in the .gimp-2.6 folder, so they will all automatically go to the right place.

Hi all, as i see Gimp Paint Studio is geting more and more known, thanks to all for at least give it a try. Install GPS is very easy ,when you know where the things are so here we go some info about installing.

http://code.google.com/p/gps-gimp-paint ... stallation

may occur that "tooloptions" is not vissible why?. .
1 you are not in the .gimp 2-6 folder.
2 you have to run at LEAST 1 time and then quit the program.
3 folder is hidden. in Linux "ctrl +h" to see hidden files . in windows we need to see the folder options and check the option related to hidden folders.

This is for people with artistic ability, it would be as much use to me as s Stradivarius would be to an orangutan. But it would be fun to play with.

If only I had a tablet to use this on

I have the tablet, but the best I can do is trace over an existing image. Actually making something graphically is hopeless for me.

Thanks everyone! :) I placed the brushes, etc in their respective folders last night and even played with them a bit. I did go ahead and place the tool options folder in the gimp 2.0 since I see that instead of a gimp 2.6 folder when I open it through my c:drive, etc. I tried to follow a few tutorials on installation, but my spanish is really rusty and everyone speaks to fast for me. :rofl

But I will try a few more to see how I do and learn more about GPS. :)

This IS useful no matter what your artistic ability is. I have found that the added tool options are quite useful, even though I am not "painting" per se.

I am trying to find the way to port GPS to 2.7 branch release. but is complex ,the script provided is not working for now so, we have to wait by now, The idea is to release the next GPS in 2.8 directly so maybe in October it depends on Sparetimes, and lot of personal things like work, holidays, feedback and adaptation time for 2.8 new dynamics.

I hope this Helps Photocomix question. if you have any idea on how to port it could be possible to make a GPS 1.5 Plus :P with all ready for 2.7.3 or later. i am totally opened to sugestions .

I see, i will not know how speed up,...but from now to gimp 2.8 should be no major changes for the brush system (i asked to Alexia Death few days ago ) .

and i believe is Alexia to coordinate the work on the brushes ,so if somebody may know how to automatize the port of old preset, if think is her, maybe she may offer some good suggestion

personally for when gimp 2.8 will be out i hope that not only gps will be ready but also a more complete gimppainter 2.8 with integrated GPS (as like the scripts and plugins more adapt for similar use)

Well, I can't find my presets and I am on GIMP 2.6.10. I am not sure what I did wrong. :gaah

I have been too busy trying to rewire my tractor without blowing it up and other stuff outside. :rofl So I have not had a lot of time to really look over things though I have watched a few tuts but I am still a bit lost on what I have done or not done right. :(

I am on Windows XP sp3. I think i also have to update my motherboard or something I have had a few weird issues going on either it is one particular program which I am very close to completely dumping.
