I totally agree. Open source has many advantages over proprietary software. "Linus's law, named after Linus Torvalds, the creator of Linux, states that " given enough eyeballs, all bugs are shallow".

Sorry about opening this sort of aged thread, but I have a question. Where do the fruits of the SoC reveal itself? A few years back there was a project concerning GPU acceleration of some GIMP plugins, but it died apparently. This time, I saw a few things concerning features similar to what PS introduced that allows for seamless manipulations (adaptive warping) of objects like a character arm for instance to allow puppet like manipulations of those objects. Was it a success? Just curious.
