Just uploaded a new version of Gimp 2.7.4 - latest (as of today, November 13th, 2011) maintenance release and the latest G'MIC 1.5.0.6. I know, David is already on the road to 1.5.0.7, but hard to keep up with him. :)

Let me know if this does not work for you or it breaks etc.

Thanks,
Partha

Thanks Partha! :) (love the new splash btw) ... could you throw them all together in a zip for us as you create them?
I would love to keep the collection.
Works excellent in Windows XP 32 bit.

Thanks again for all your hard work, and your help.

I had an issue with it on XP and so did not update the portable yet. But since you have Win 7, you should be OK.

sure the old portable version for me works well with the modified gimrun.exe ...i will wait for the new
(and yes from a selfish point of view i would not mind if would be "7 only" version)

No problems. :)

For you I will make it available in a location that is not necessarily accessible in general. Don't want any XP users, sending me email about it being broken. :)

You will have to wait till evening US eastern.

Hi, my first post on this forum although I have been using Gimp for some years and more recently following Partha's 2.7 updates.

I downloaded the new 2.7.4 (32 bit regular) yesterday. It seems to install just fine but I get the error message "GNU imagage manimpulation program has encountered a problem and needs to close" when I try to open it. I have uninstalled and reinstalled without success.

I am using XP SP3 and have not had this problem with previous 2.7.x updates.. One quirk is that I install to my D: partition and not to the default C:... which I keep for system files only

I have tried to attach the error file for information but "the extension txt is not allowed"? Would it be helpful to paste the full contents... or am I missing something?

Mark

Hi MarkUK, and welcome to Gimp Chat.
I believe your problem may stem from the user environment PATH variable.
Is the PATH located there to the D Gimp-2.7 install?
A path to Gimps bin folder has to be present for Gimp to find its dependencies.

I did with Windows XP without a hitch.(IF YOUR OLDER VERSION IS A PARTHA VERSION)
Otherwise uninstall through the CP.Then reinstall Parthas version to avoid conflicts.
Just make sure your added resources are in the USERFOLDER/.gimp-2.7 folders only.
Then you won't lose anything.

I have checked my PATH and D:\Gimp-2.7.4\bin; is the first entry... which is correct. Do I need anything else here or should I revert to the previous version of 2.7.4 which did work and wait for 2.8?

Yes, you should be fine if you do that. However, I would not recommend installing your scripts and plugins in the system directory. You probably should use your local .gimp-2.7 directory.

Hi Mark,

Perhaps you can leave me a message on my website and copy and paste the text file? Here you can zip the file and attach it to your message.

Thanks,
Partha

Don't forget Rod's warning. As long as you are installing over my build, you should be fine. Thanks Rod.

I have installed 2-7-4 64 bit but cannot find 64bit GAP or mathmap files.

GMIC 1-5-0-6 win64 works great
