GIMP Version: 2.6.11
Operating System: Windows
OS Version: XP - SP3
GIMP Experience: Advanced Level

List any relevant plug-ins or scripts:
PSPI

Does anyone have a working copy of Eye Candy (Any version)? I cannot seem to get the Eye Candy Plugin working. I have gotten three or four different versions. They all infinite error out. If so can someone help me get it installed or provide the working version??

Yeah; I believe in GIMP 2.6.8 or 2.6.10, they hosed PSPI and only a few plugins (such as GML Matting and a few Flaming Pear plugins) still work. Been to use a surrogate like Irfanview or XNView to run PS plugins; better preview anyway. If you have Python installed, a better solution is to install Shellout plugin (thanks to RobA) which will launch your external editor of choice, pass the layer you want to operate the filter on (including transparancies; cool stuff) and return the layer back once done. :)

What I use to do (and still occasionally do) is copy the layer or visible and paste it in Irfanview, run whatever filter I need and copy from Irfanview back to GIMP. That's pretty much you only option. PSPI was never really supported kindly by the GIMP developers imo and they finally broke it with a GIMP update and it was never fixed. Sad for sure. Still, not all PS plugins were broken as I mentioned. Not sure what will happen when 2.8 gets released (and not looking forward to that). :)

Try this (works for me even with the GIMP 2.7.5):
Eye Candy Special Edition (v3.1) (Alien Skin) (freeware):
http://www.ellies-treasures.com/files/plugins/EyeCandy3.zip
The two files:
EC3-ENG.8BF
EyeCand3.8bf
move to the directory specified in: Directories wit Photoshop Plug-ins

Could have sworn I tried EC3 in GIMP to no avail before but did put those two files in my GIMP plugins directory and EC3 worked fine MareroQ; thanks for motivating me to try again. :)

Normally you will also need the core DLL but i do not believe this EyeCandy release needs one. :)
Thanks MareroQ.
