So if you've follow me from the 850 brush download topic, this would be my follow request for help. If you just discovered this topic randomly, then I suggest you go to Gimp News and find the link to get some more brushes, if you don't already have a few thousand already.

So what's the deal, I try putting them under my username/library/....brushes folder (doesn't work) I refresh and restart and even go into preferences to make sure the Brushes folder option is "ticked". I have tried putting it under App itself by right click and going thru "contest" resources etc until I get to brushes, make sure it's "ticked" in preference. I refresh, then nothing. I restart gimp, nothing. I change my socks, nothing.

Is because they are png files? What else could I be missing?

I will be trying the standard .gbr file format style brushes and see if that will work but if does what the heck?

yes they are png files
you must convert them to gbr format

i alwas liked this tutorial by malgalin on how to make your own brushes

ah, ok. I was just assuming they would work as png but wasn't 100% confident about it. Thank you.
