Another easy question regarding moving selected bits of an image

Hey guys,

another easy one for all you pros who are talking about **** that I dont know what you're talking about.

I have selected the tail of an animal I have drawn and I want to just rotate it... I also want to choose the degree I rotate it. Is this possible? Every time I try and rotate the bit I've selected, it just rotates the whole image.

I know its got an easy solution... I'm just not very good yet...

I would select the part of the tail you want to change, then go to edit...copy, then edit...paste as new layer.
Then when it is on a new layer you should be able to flip, rotate and move it the way you want.
Then you will have to go to the original layer and erase or delete the part of the tail you don't want.

thanks Molly, you're very good at this... I did that, but then I found the rotate tool, so I used that...
