I have an MS Word 2003 .doc file with 4 photos - 3 of which I don't want.

If I open that document in GIMP it cuts off 2 photos and 60% of the photo I want saved before cropping.

If I try to open the file or that photo in Irfanview, it gives me an error message.

If I just copy that photo into MS Paint it comes out looking like a cartoon image.

I'm not sure how to isolate that photo so the 3 photos can be cropped out of the photo I want or crop the photo of just the photo I want so it can be saved as a separate file?

Is there any easy way to do this in GIMP?

Can't you just open the file in MS Word and take a screenshot of it, then open the screenshot in Gimp and edit it as you like? Or maybe use the Snipping tool?

The screen shot will reveal grainy and it will only show 60% of the 4 subjects - it cuts off the subject I'm trying to crop and save.

Maybe if you post the file we might be able to better help you somehow?

Open the file in MS word, select the picture you want, copy to keyboard, open Gimp, File>Create>From clipboard (or Edit>Paste as>New image)

The Edit/Paste worked!

It's a smaller image than in the MS Word file. I tried grabbing one of the corners of the image to drag to enlarge it but that didn't work.

Is there a way to enlarge the image?

Then, how do I crop out the 3 photos of subjects I don't want?

Or alternatively, crop and save the one photo subject I do want?
