I’m not a graphics designer so I’m not sure what the technique is called when you wish to replace part of a photo image with a different photo image so it look like the replacement image appeared in the original photo?

It doesn’t seem to be superimpose.

Ex. You wish to substitute the face of a famous baseball player (e.g. Bane Ruth) with the face of Mel Brooks. You have a photo of Babe Ruth and a photo of Mel Brooks.

How would one using GIMP substitute Mel Brooks’s face for Babe Ruth’s face in the Bane Ruth photo so The Babe’s body in the photo remains only now with Mel Brooks face?
