Won't save my changes.

GIMP Version: 2.8.14
Operating System: Windows
GIMP Experience: Experienced User

A long time ago I "upgraded" from 2.6 to 2.8, found it unwieldy and went back to 2.6. Now I've gone from WinXP 32 bit to Win7 64 bit and gave 2.8 another try. Now when I edit an image I export it to save in jpeg form. It saves without giving me any indication of a problem, but when I look at the saved image the changes are gone. Anyone know what gives? Am I having yet another senior moment?

2.8.18 is the current version of GIMP. Not sure what could be the problem with your current install. Make sure you are using the installer form linked from GIMP.org.

With version 2.8 came the ability to only save in xcf's (gimps native file)
Exporting is the right way if you want any other files but remember to put your fullstop before the file name or it won't save. I have forgotten a couple times and wondered why it wouldn't save. After a couple times now I remember and check that I haven't forgot it.

Thanks for the replies. I reloaded the application and the problem went away. So something was corrupted the first time.
