Hello all.

new user and was attempting to see if it is even possible to remove a mask from a face in a photo I have gotten asked about. It is a sports photo and they want to make it into a banner for the kid...I have used gimp in the past for some novice things which is why I was asked. I tried to use some python scripts and it was semi successful but it is way above my skill level.



Can anyone with skill / knowledge of high end Gimp tell me if this is even feasible? and if so point me in some direction or if they had some time want to tinker?

I have a higher resolution .tif copy of the picture if it would interest anyone.

Do you have a picture of the person without the mask or headgear that you can make selections from and manipulate to complete the image?

Impossible without another photo of the person's face.
You cannot just remove the mask and 'hope' the face will show - pixels are gone
