GIF Playback doesn't seem to be working-

Hello! I've been a long time since I've used GIMP to make GIFS, probably since Highschool, but I was fairy sure I remembered the process. Frames go from bottom to top, they get given a frame rate and a disposal setting, and then you check your playback. It should look something like this, at least I was pretty sure

Frame 5 (20ms) (combine)
Frame 4 (20ms) (combine)
Frame 3 (20ms) (combine)
Frame 2 (20ms) (combine)
Frame 1 (20ms) (combine)

However- When I play the image in my Filters>Animation>Playback.... Nothing happens. It doesn't move, it doesn't move frames, it won't play. It's incredibly slow to save the GIFS as well and froze up the first time I tried so I really don't want to save them if they aren't working. I would appriciate any help or advice- Thank youv ery much.

You can try them out in the Animation playback first before saving/exporting. If nothing happens then dont save. Only reason I can think of that they would take a long time to save is you have many layers

I demonstrated an example in this video. Pauses can occur when the image content is very crowded. If the resolution is above 800x600 dpi, pauses will occur at excessively high dpi values. Whether the image is crowded or not, you need to use the "Optimize (for GIF)" option in the Animation settings.

In this video, I wanted to show that the work I do can be done without using optimized GIFs.
