Hi im new to GIMP but really like how it handles gif files and wanto install the APNG plugin. Im more interested in saving multiple seperate layers as a single image, but the animation parts a bonus. Problem is i keep getting error messages when GIMP loads with a string of 0000 and x7 at the end. GIMP still loads but assume the plugin isnt installed properly and im not sure which version of the plugin to use with GIMP 2.6.11 and W7 64bit or the correct install method

Ive only tried installing the 0.1.0b 64bit version from here but says its meant for GIMP 2.7, I thought 2.6.11 was the latest?? and the install instruction just says put the 3 components in the plug-ins folder. Ive also tried installing the way the next post (the one for GIMP "2.7.3") says, but found my install didnt have ...\share\gimp\2.0\ui\plug-ins folders and still showed the error adding the folders to put it - hoping one of the forum thread here lists the correct versions and methods, but not sure how to find it.

Gimp 2.6.11 is the latest official version. Anything above that at this time are unofficial versions, etc 2.7.4, 2.7.5.

You will have to install the apng for the 2.6.11 version. I attached the apng plugin for Gimp 2.6.11 below. Hope this helps.

(figured it still necessary to remove the file-png.exe from plug-ins so did that also)

and really pleased to see the compression size, half as large as another program ive got with apng, and thats before any optimizations. Cheers
