libstdc++-6 two different versions

Operating System: Windows
OS Version: 7 - 32bits
GIMP Experience: Beginner Level

Hi everybody,
I like to tell my experience of this morning.
I renamed .gimp-2.8/pluginrc to let gimp recreate it ex-novo.
I got 3 error messages all related to the fact that 3 plug-ins did not found the entry _gxx_personality_sj0 in libstdc++-6.dll.
I did some search and found two different versions of that .dll, one contained in Program Files/gimp 2/bin dated June 7th, 2012 of 845 KB, the second one contained in .../gimp 2/lib/gimp/2.0/plug-ins, dated January 7th, 2011 of 860 KB.
I cannot "read" .dll files, so I did not know which one was in error.
So I decided to understand which one was missing that entry, I renamed the one in ...bin (newer but smaller) but I got the same errors; then I restored the one in bin and renamed the one in ...plug-ins; gimp started without any error:
I don't remember/know from which package (the basic 2.8.4 or some additional one) came those entries, probably it would have been helpful to get a warning that the most recent has to stay alone and the other entry renamed, as I did (the confusion comes out from the fact that they are placed into two different locations).

Ooops! what I made as indicated above removed the errors when launching gimp, but now I get a slightly different one when launching GMIC inside gimp, the error says that now the entry not found in that .dll is _gxx_personality_v0 (suffix diverges)... sigh

I have also a problem with these differents dll files ...

yes.
you have to have the two different versions in your system:
-one in Program Files\GIMP 2\bin of 845 kb
-one in user\gimp-2.8\plug-ins of 860 kb
both are needed, but check no other one is in your system (I had two of the same...)
the remove "pluginrc" file from user\gimp-2.8 (this will force its recreation by gimp start-up)
the issue should disappear (hopefully....)

...if necessary, reinstall gmic, by using the available .exe
