Hey Guys,

I have been trying to find a good painting program for my needs, so far ive tried autodesk scetchbook, Scetchable, bamboo paper, and inkpaint.

the problem with these was that they either required you to pay for a subscription to the pro version in order to access all the tools, or they just didnt have the functionality that I needed.

However, one thing the all had was the ability to disable input from fingers while using a pen on the touch screen.

Gimp seems perfect for what I'm after, but I cant figure out if it has this functionality?

also, is there an undo button somewhere in the UI besides the edit menu? when using GIMP on a tablet it would be great to be able to undo multiple times without having to open the menu each time...

There is a Dockable Dialog for Undo History,
which can be added.
Click the left arrow at the bottom of the dialog to undo.
Click the right arrow to redo.

You can also use the keyboard shortcut,
CTRL + Z
To undo something.
CTRL + Y
To redo.

Sorry,
but I don't know anything about disabling pen (finger) input for touch screens.

You might want to try Krita. ( https://krita.org/en/ ) Whereas Gimp is an image manipulation app that has painting functions, Krita is a painting focussed app that has image manipulation functions. Finger input is totally disabled in Krita (the possible drawback being there is no option to switch it on)

https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?t=133723

Three features I love in Krita that Gimp doesn't have are:

1. Filter layers (like Photoshops adjustment layers)
2. A comprehensive but intuitive multi-adjustment tool.
3. A vanishing point tool that enables flawless perspective drawing

Maybe try both Krita and Gimp and compare them?
