Hello everyone, I just knew GIMP from the photo editing (especially for the script)

So, here's the problem. I found a website that make me know about GIMP.
GIMP Script Instruction
And after I installed the GIMP2 application, I wonder how to use the script. Someone please help me to apply the script ?

Thanks a lot. :)

Hi dbigtoes13, welcome to Gimp Chat.

I'm not sure which script you downloaded. There are several listed on the left side of that page under GIMP.

Scripts for Gimp go in the /.gimp-2.6 / Scripts folder.

Let us know which script or scripts you downloaded and we can help you find where they are in Gimp and hopefully can help you put them into action.

I downloaded this one GIMP - elsamuko where it says download elsamuko.zip to your computer and unzip the scripts into the scripts folder of GIMP.

I did everything it says, copied the script to the GIMP script folder. But still I don't know how to use the script.

Overall, is GIMP script same to Adobe Photoshop CS2 script (only open photo -> script -> browse script -> ok -> TADAA, picture done.) Is it the same ? If it's the same, how to use it ? Thank you. :)

GIMP scripts are not the same as Adobe Photoshop scripts. They can't be used in Photoshop.

I looked in that zip folder and it looks like the scripts are not all located in the same menu in GIMP. Some are in Filters / Decor, some in Filters / Artistic. I didn't look in each script to see where it was but you will have to search them out.

If you have one specific one you are looking for, I can help you out there.

If you haven't refreshed the scripts or closed and opened gimp after copying the scripts into your script folder you need to do that first.

You can use the search function under "Help->Plug-in Browser" to find the scripts. Once found, the information displayed includes where the command is located in the menus.

I did find a script there that looks like it might be useful. It simulates sprocket holes. I grabbed 3 more that I haven't tried yet.

Yes, at St Louis botanical gardens. They're really neat. I have another one that I like more.
