Gimp wont Open [SOLVED]

Weird, it made a folder which was empty? So I just copied them all out of the old and into the new. All are there now. I hope this doesn't give me any more grief now.

Are you're able to open Gimp normally, with your old brushes folder content placed in it?

If not, you might want to have a look at all the files that are in your brushes folder.
I would separate them by type, then look to see if there is any file there that aren't a known brush file and remove them.
Restart Gimp.
If this doesn't work.
Then I would remove brushes starting with any animated brush type, eg brush file type of .gih.
Then see if Gimp will start normally.

If not, you might want to have a look at all the files that are in your brushes folder.

Don't know how it got in there but a zip folder was in the brushes folder and I am sure I deleted it. It had nothing in common with gimp. That may have been my problem.

Not sure if a zip folder would make gimp act as it was, but it might be the reason it couldn't populate the new brushes folder.

Also if you use any .abr file, they too could cause issues.

Is your Gimp opening up normally now?
