Selection to New Layer problem

i think is correct that paste as new layer preserve the original selection, i would not like a selection that can be very complex be deleted without a warning

What is not correct is the position of the new layer that should be centered on the selection (but it isn't )

To take a screen shot in Gimp, you can go to File > Create > Screenshot, use the selection tool and select the part you want which will probably be your layers, save it as a png, jpg. Then post it in this board (Selection to New Layer problem)

I pm'ed you the info how to post an xcf file if you decide to go that way.
