In reality the learning GIMP is no different from one OS to another...the differences lie within the how to install things not the art itself I believe

well, Miss Warrior, here are the answers to what you asked in a simple list...
*speed painting is recorded at normal painting speed with a screen recording program as you paint.
*then speeded up by using a video program on the recording after you are done recording
*and the voice-over narration is done with the video program on the speeded up version
*no one actually paints fast like what you see in the speedpaint vids.
