gimp(point)org is down? What's happening? Wher find any updated info? tweet, topic, anything?

I just found this site for download, but only windows version:

If you are using Linux, you should probably install GIMP from your Linux Distribution's Software Repository. Which Distribution of Linux are you running?

Ouch! I was afraid it this. Maintenance or something?

I use Fedora and repository install is ok, but I offered the application to a newbie windows user. He said that does not work.

Not sure what the problem is with the GIMP Website, but I'm sure it's being worked on.

You can get the Windows version from Patha's Place. He offers a compile of the latest versions, with several good plug-ins pre-installed.

You should go with GIMP 2.8 for Windows (V2.9 is the development version and will be buggy).
